Privacy Policy
The Bow Island & District Health Foundation cares about your online privacy.

Privacy Policy
The Bow Island & District Health Foundation is committed to maintaining the privacy of supporters, trustees and staff. This Privacy Statement describes the practices employed by the Foundation relating to personal information provided for conducting Foundation business. We are committed to following the best practices of Alberta’s “Personal Information Protection Act” (PIPA).
Use of Cookies
The Bow Island & District Health Foundation Web site use "cookies" to help personalize the online experience. Cookies may be accepted or declined by the user.
Use of Personal Information
The Bow Island & District Health Foundation does not sell, rent, share or loan the personal or financial information provided. Personal Information in the form of contact and financial information provided through response forms or donations is used by the Foundation to process donations, administer fundraising events and tickets, and to provide receipts. This information is utilized to inform supporters of the Foundation’s activities and funding needs through mail-out campaigns, reports, and newsletters. Contact information is also used to contact individuals if there are service issues or questions. Supporters may choose to opt-out of receiving future communications from the Foundation by contacting the Foundation office.
Disclosure of Personal Information
The Foundation does not disclose any personal information without consent. In the case of memorial donations, many grieving families want to be able to send a thankyou note to the donors who remembered their loved one. Only with consent will the family be notified of remembrance and contact information – the dollar value of the donation is NOT shared.
Credit card donations are accepted with three reputable credit card services – ATB Cares, Canada Helps, and Benevity. No personal or financial information is shared beyond standard operating processes.
Data Retention
Personal Information is retained for as long as reasonably required for legal or business purposes. Paper records are kept under lock and key. All digital assets and backups are updated regularly with cyber virus protection.
Privacy Statement
Any changes to this Privacy Statement will be available on request in the main office at the Bow Island Health Centre, and will be posted on our website: BIDFoundation.ca.
